WASHINGTON—APA's publishing arm has entered an agreement to publish the Journal of Health Service Psychology (JHSP), the official journal of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. The journal will move to the APA PsycArticles database, and new issues will be published with APA Journals starting in 2027.

“APA Journals is delighted to partner with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists in advancing the Journal of Health Service Psychology,” said Rose Sokol, PhD, Deputy Chief Publishing Officer, Head of Editorial & Production. “The National Register's commitment to supporting health service psychologists aligns with APA Publishing’s mission to publish high-quality scholarship across the psychological discipline. We look forward to expanding the journal’s impact on the practitioners and students they serve.”

APA publishes 90 peer-reviewed journals spanning the breadth and depth of psychology, many published in partnership with APA’s specialty divisions and other national and international societies, reaching millions of readers around the world.

The Journal of Health Service Psychology is a peer-reviewed clinical journal delivering practical, immediately applicable guidance to health service psychologists and behavioral health practitioners. Each article addresses a current clinical issue or practice challenge, spanning both mental and physical health topics, with a special interest in integrated care delivery.

“This partnership with APA marks an important step forward for the Journal of Health Service Psychology and the practitioners we serve," said Andrew Boucher, Chief Executive Officer of the National Register. "By moving JHSP into the APA PsycArticles database, we’re ensuring that the clinically focused, practice-ready content our authors produce reaches the widest possible audience of health service psychologists. This aligns directly with the National Register’s mission of supporting excellence in psychological practice.”
