Psychological Methods invites you to submit a high-quality paper providing a tutorial of an advanced psychological method or a very clearly stated exposition of an innovative method.

This kind of paper is not often submitted although it tends to generate high interest and impact. Submissions should be new manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere.

Details

Submitted papers that involve the following are given preference:

  • Methods of wide interest to a broad range of researchers in psychology
  • Explicit guidelines, examples, computer code, and data sets
  • An advanced methodological procedure that can be applied to several areas
  • An innovative method that is clearly demonstrated to perform better than comparable methods
  • Author(s) that have not published (very much if at all) previously in Psychological Methods
  • Authors from underrepresented groups (e.g., early career, women, ethnic minorities)

Guidelines

Papers should follow the regular guidelines on our editorial policy, especially highlighting the options of tutorials, the teaching of quantitative methods, or reviews of statistical software.

All submissions will undergo peer-review.
