Once all your proof corrections have been submitted to the production office, your article may be published Online First in as little as 2 weeks. Due to the nature of the process and the large volume of articles being published, we are not able to inform individual authors when articles are published.

Articles are released on a weekly basis into the APA PsycArticles® database, so once your article corrections have been submitted you can check the weekly releases.

You can also sign up to receive email alerts anytime new content is posted for a particular journal.

Online First articles will be published in the APA PsycArticles database. Go to the main journal page for the journal in which your article is to appear and click on "View Table of Contents and Online First Publication" under the journal cover image.

You can view a list of journals on the APA and Affiliated Journals homepage.

The Online First version of your article is a published version. We cannot therefore make any changes to the content of the article prior to the final version appearing in print.

If there are errors in the Online First version that do require corrections, you will need to submit a request for a formal correction notice that can appear in conjunction with the final print version.

Only full-length journal articles and brief reports are released in Online First. Book Reviews, Comments, Editorials, Letters, etc. only appear in the final, paginated print and online versions of the journal.

The 7th edition of the APA Publication Manual® provides guidance on page 199.

The article doi should be used in place of volume, issue, and page numbers.
