The editorial team of Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology is delighted to announce the Outstanding Paper of the Year Award, sponsored by the Society of Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology.
The award aims to recognize high-quality research and consists of free registration to the annual APA convention, allocated space at the convention for the first author to present the paper, and a certificate. The award is given annually to the first author of a paper, published or due to appear in print, in each calendar year.
Up to five papers are rated on innovation, methodological rigor, data analysis, significance of the issue, quality of writing, and overall contribution to the literature by a committee formed by the editor in chief, the associate editors, and three members of the society (president, president-elect, and past president). The paper with the highest ratings is selected for the award.
The winner of the award is announced on the journal website, in December, each year. He/she is invited to present the paper at the next APA conference, where he/she also receives the certificate. In addition, the paper appears on the journal website as one of the sample articles of the journal.
