The Journal of Threat Assessment and Management is a multidisciplinary journal that is contributed to and read by a wide range of professionals in federal, state, and local law enforcement roles, private security, mental health, civil and criminal law, victim support, and human resources. It is published by APA and is unique in its focus on the application of threat assessment and management practices across all contexts, settings, and environments.
The journal publishes theoretical, empirical, review, and case study articles of various lengths, focused on all aspects related to the assessment and management of possible harm to individuals or groups.
The Journal of Threat Assessment and Management is seeking submissions in the following areas:
- Risk assessment tools and protocols
- Case studies on threat management process, intervention, procedures, or techniques
- Multi-disciplinary threat assessment team formation and maintenance
- School harassment and violence
- Threat assessment program development and implementation
- Diversity considerations for threat and violence risk assessment
- International and domestic terrorism
- Workplace harassment and violence
- Intimate partner violence and stalking
- Legal considerations and case law, related to case management
- Security practices, policies, and procedures
- Psychological or sociological theories related to threat and risk of violence
- Commentaries and thought explorations related to current practices and emerging trends in violence risk assessment and management, as well thoughtful articles regarding what the field could or should be considering to address the future.
Articles aim to be informative across disciplines and focus on how the findings can be practically applied in real-world settings.
