Infographic: Color text task
In a simple demonstration of the Stroop test, participants typically take longer to name the color a word is written in when the word and the ink color are mismatched (i.e., the incongruent list).
The image is of a three-column table. The first column is labeled “Control” and has the word “dog” in green text, “bottle” in red text, “chair” in blue text, “boat” in orange text, and “wheel” in yellow text.
The second column is labeled “Congruent” and has the word “red” in red text, “blue” in blue text, “yellow” in yellow text, “green” in green text, and “orange” in orange text.
The third column is labeled “Incongruent” and has the word “red” in yellow text, “blue” in green text, “yellow” in red text, “green” in blue text, and “orange” in purple text.
