The APA PsycInfo database contains millions of records (primarily journal articles) centered on psychology and the behavioral and social sciences. The records provide abstracts, subject headings and keywords, research methodologies, cited references, and more. There is no full text included in APA PsycInfo.
If you are using APA PsycInfo through your university or institutional library, you should be able to use a tool provided by the library to search additional library resources for the full text. Typically this tool or link to full text is represented by a button or link that the library sets up to display on APA PsycInfo. For help with this tool, or with locating journal articles in general, please contact your librarian.
Note that if your library subscribes to APA PsycArticles (a database of full-text APA journals), APA PsycInfo may include direct links to the full text of those articles. For a list of specific journals and years covered in APA PsycArticles, please see the APA PsycArticles Coverage Information.
If you are using APA PsycInfo through a personal subscription, such as APA PsycNet Gold, Gold Plus, or Platinum, or through APA PsycNet Direct, you will need to access the full text directly from the article’s publisher. If presented, use the DOI link or the “Full text from publisher” link. If these links are not available, visit the publisher’s website for the journal (the name of the publisher is available in the APA PsycInfo record for the article). You can also use a third-party document delivery service. For more information, see our page on Getting Full Text for Documents Found in APA PsycInfo.
If you do not recall your password, visit the MyAPA login page and click the “Forgot your password or email/username” link under the “Log In” button.

If you are having any difficulty logging in—other than a forgotten password—you may find a remedy to your problem in one of these common solutions.
- Make sure your internet browser is set to allow cookies. The APA website depends on cookies to keep track of your login status, your access level, and other essential information. Also, make sure your computer’s firewall program (if you have one) does not block cookies.
- Clear your internet browser cache (the cache is a collection of folders holding temporary files created as you visit websites). Sometimes your internet browser retains an incomplete version of a temporary file, which prevents you from accessing the complete version until you have cleared the cache. In most browsers, you will typically find the option to clear your cache in the "Options," "Privacy," or "Security" settings. You can also use your browser’s help function to locate instructions on clearing the cache.
- If your internet browser (or a password manager utility program) is automatically “remembering” your APA password, clear your stored passwords and then log in again. In most browsers, you will typically find the option to clear your cache in the "Options," "Privacy," or "Security" settings. You can also use your browser’s help function to locate instructions on clearing the cache.
To register a personal research assistant, please contact Membership:
- your member number,
- first and last name of your assistant,
- the assistant's email address, and
- the assistant's telephone number.
- If your research assistant is an APA member or affiliate, please give us their member number.
If your second user has an existing MyAPA (or My PsycNet) account, we will use that account to provide their access to your Platinum subscription. If they do not have an existing account, we will create one. Your or your assistant can choose the username. If they do not have an account, please include the username they’d like on the account. An automatic password will be assigned, and your assistant will be asked to update the password for security purposes.
