This award is given annually to an APA member psychologist who demonstrates outstanding contributions in ethics education to include but not limited to areas of education and training, and teaching (including classroom and/or online teaching, workshops, supervision, mentoring, and continuing education). Exceptional contributions to ethics education in a particular setting, such as service on a licensing board, practice in a school, practice in a hospital and/or clinic, practice in an organization, practice in a court and/or prison, etc.
Stellar contributions to ethics education through research in ethical theory and practice, and/or developing ethical guidelines, and a wide range of ethics education activities will be considered, such as presentations, courses, workshops, publications, and online media presentations. This award is intended to recognize outstanding and innovative ethics education contributions, to promote and inspire these activities, and to promote and disseminate ethics education development.
Individuals currently serving on the APA Ethics Committee, including associates and any subgroup of the Ethics Committee (i.e., subcommittee, task force), are not eligible to receive awards from the Ethics Committee nor will letters of recommendation be accepted from current Ethics Committee members, associates, or any member of a subgroup of the Ethics Committee, regarding any award presented by or on behalf of the Ethics Committee.
