Meet the division volunteer: Daniel Lattimore, PhD

I became a division leader through determination, dedication, and gratitude. When Rosie Phillips Davis, PhD, ABPP, current professor at the University of Memphis Counseling Psychology Doctoral program and former APA president, encouraged me to attend the SCP Mid-Winter Conference, I was determined to learn everything I could about consulting psychology. Once I attended the conference, I was dedicated to finding the intersection between counseling and consultation. I attended every conference thereafter, serving on various committees and co-chaired a conference during the pandemic. These experiences evolved into the opportunity to become community domain lead.

One of the things I value most about being a consulting psychologist is working alongside leaders and their teams to create and sustain positive and psychologically safe working environments! If we’re going to spend a third of our life working, psychology can be used as a force for good.

I am most proud of the division’s commitment to collaboration within the Division 13 Community, with other divisions, and with communities whose space we become stewards of. For example, we have plans to interact with members and leaders of the Charleston community during our upcoming conference in February 2025.

Take full advantage of all that the division offers! This ranges from partaking in industry-based discussions on our Listserv, several of our Special Interest Groups including AI, small businesses and business development, and our in-house CE courses, volunteering with one of our domains, and a monthly town hall meeting with our president.

In a not-so-distant life, I performed stand up comedy. Currently, I love to perform short- and long-form improvisational comedy.
