APA members who join divisions are more likely to remain a member of their division and APA. Therefore, there is undeniable power in APA and divisions working together as a team. The work of division leaders advances the mission, increases engagement, provides a sense of community, and more. You might be wondering how APA supports you in reaching your membership goals. Here are some of the ways APA Membership Recruitment and Engagement is proudly promoting division membership:

  • Those joining or rejoining APA receive an email telling them about divisions and how to join.
  • Email recruitment campaign (Division membership recruitment campaigns from APA are planned for dues year 2025.)
  • Division presence at the APA convention (We hope you stopped by the membership booth.)
  • Division tabletop sign at various regional psychology conferences.
  • Promotion of divisions in APA newsletters like Benefits Digest and Member Update.
  • Listing of divisions on the APA site and APA division application.
  • Division Communities on the recently launched APA Community.

This past year, we processed almost 20,000 new division members. We will continue to look for ways to be good partners and support your membership efforts. You can expect us to share more membership best practices through resources like this one and through direct contact with the Division Engagement Office. Look for more information in upcoming issues of Division Digest and past articles at Membership Matters We’ll be sharing new activities and more membership tips. The work you do is sincerely appreciated and we look forward to celebrating more wins with you.

Please contact your Division Engagement Liaison with any questions or contact the Division Engagement Office.
