The Commission on Accreditation (CoA) would like to thank everyone who responded to the public comment for the five Implementing Regulations (IRs) involving data and disclosure. These IRs included:
- Public Disclosure for Internship Programs.
- Public Disclosure for Postdoctoral Residency Programs.
- Outcome Data for Doctoral Programs.
- Outcome Data for Internship Programs.
- Outcome Data for Postdoctoral Residency Programs.
Consistent with CoA’s procedures for policy development, the public comment is reviewed and common themes are identified. CoA reviews each common theme in light of the proposed policy and decides whether the comment should be integrated into the policy, and if so, how it should be integrated. If CoA is unable to draft a final version of the policy for approval by the full CoA, it may place the policy out for additional round of public comment.
At the spring program review meeting, April 7-10, 2016, CoA plans to review the submitted comment and follow its policy development process. A summary of CoA’s review of the public comment will be provided in the next issue of CoA Update.
In addition to the five IRs, CoA will continue to work on updating the transition FAQ, reviewing current policies for consistency with the Standards of Accreditation, developing new IRs and a glossary. Please keep an eye out for email notifications regarding upcoming public comment periods after the spring meeting.
