This year's conference will have two modality options:
ACT: On Location will be held in Portland, Oregon from October 5-7. We'll be gathering at the Hilton Portland Downtown, so make your hotel reservations todayopens in new window!
ACT: Online will be held in Spring 2024 (late Feb/early March) and will bring together programming from the October conference alongside new programming specifically for the online modality. This temporal separation allows for increased "crossover programming," such as online discussions of recorded on-site programming, and it increases the likelihood of dual attendance (which encourages networking between on-location and online-only attendees).
Registration for both modalities is open nowopens in new window.
I'm also pleased to announce our three keynote speakersopens in new window for this year's conference. Maria Wong will give a talk titled "Don't Get Trapped by False Dichotomies: Both/And Thinking for Teaching, Research, and Professional Development." Leslie Berntsen will share "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Stories and Advocacy Tips from the Front Lines of Inclusive Teaching." Diane Finley, our STP President, will be speaking on "Sharing Our Stories: The Road Not Taken."
Last, it's time to begin pulling together your presentation proposalsopens in new window. This year, we are accepting proposals in the following formats: poster, 25- or 45-minute symposium, 2-hr workshop, "Live from..." and Lunch PIE. "Live from..." presentations are 10-minute class activity demos that cast the audience as your students. Lunch PIE is our new and improved version of "Learn at Lunch." During these Participant Idea Exchanges (PIEs), hosts facilitate roundtable discussions about a topic of interest. We are now accepting proposals for all themes and presentation types through Friday, May 26th.
Looking forward to learning with everyone at the 2023-2024 ACT!
