Over the last two years, psychology educators have been able to access vetted activities with customized assessments that can immediately be implemented in the classroom through APA's Project Assessment. Ten of these activities with assessments were developed by a working group that focused on assessment at the 2017 APA Summit for High School Psychology Education (for more information on the working group's deliverables for teachers, including an "Assessment Guide for Psychology Teachers" (PDF, 617KB)opens in new window, which provides guidance to teachers looking to further develop their assessment skills, see Franks, 2018). Teachers can search for the “high school” topic area through Project Assessment to find these templates. Registration is required, but there is no cost to teachers.
The co-chairs of the assessment working group made a short (five minute) videoopens in new window that describes the rationale for as well as instructions on how to access these resources. The last slide in the presentation includes a link to a two question surveyopens in new window. The summit working group welcomes teacher feedback via this survey. High school psychology teachers are invited to watch the video above and take the short survey by Jan. 15, 2020.
