Is your resume helping you get the job, or getting in your way? Should you be using a CV instead of a resume? Do you need more than one version of your resume? Writing your resume is hard for many of us because we’re not used to thinking and writing about ourselves. It may feel awkward – like boasting. For others of us, we tend to get into the weeds with too much detail in our resumes that can hurt our chances for the job.
In this workshop you’ll learn what is important to a potential employer and what to leave out of your resume. We’ll explore formatting styles and how to create a resume that gets through the many automated application systems. You’ll learn the not-so-secret formula for presenting yourself that makes it easy for employers to see what you have to offer. Finally, we’ll discuss strategies for creating a resume that works for you.
