Beginning this month and continuing through the September Monitor, the five candidates for APA's 2016 president are answering two questions. Balloting begins Sept. 15, and the election closes Oct. 29. For biographical information on each candidate and the candidates' election statements, see the May Monitor.
Q1
What concrete steps should APA take to enhance its science agenda, including recognition of psychology as a STEM discipline and communication of the science of psychology? How will you convey to government funding agencies, professional associations and the public that psychology is a STEM discipline?
Q2
What are your ideas as to how APA can take a leadership role in health-care reform and ensure the inclusion of psychologists in these reforms?
In addition to these questions, the candidates will answer two questions about the American Psychological Association Practice Organization. The answers to those questions will appear at APA Practice Central in July.
