APA's Committee of Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools (TOPSS) honored three high school teachers with the prestigious TOPSS Excellence in Teaching Award:

  • Michael McLane of Sterling Heights High School, Sterling Heights, Mich.

  • Jacquelynn Norman of San Marcos High School, San Marcos, Texas.

  • Susan Spencer of Arthur L. Johnson High School, Clark, N.J.

The award recognizes exemplary teaching and teacher commitment to academic and professional excellence. Each teacher received a framed certificate, an engraved award, a complimentary one-year TOPSS membership and a cash prize.

A call for nominations for the 2008 Teaching Awards is posted on the TOPSS website.
