The "Changing Gender Composition of Psychology: Update and Expansion of the 1995 Task Force Report" by APA's Committee on Women in Psychology provides current data and recommendations in four key areas: 

  • Psychology in sociocultural context. 
  • Education and training of psychologists. 
  • Employment of psychologists. 
  • Professional activities of psychologists. 

Within each chapter, we pay particular attention to issues in academic and health provider settings as well as to multiple intersections of identity.

The Committee on Women in Psychology (CWP) has developed a series of one-page fact sheets based upon the findings of the "Changing Gender Composition of Psychology: Update and Expansion of the 1995 Task Force Report".

On Aug. 30, 2017, the CWP hosted a webinar, "The Changing Gender Composition of Psychology: Update and Expansion of the 1995 Report". CWP Chair Alette Coble-Temple, PhD, and Ruth Fassinger, PhD, highlighted the major findings in the 2017 report and reviewed recommended future action steps for psychology to engage in related to the major findings.
