In addition to regular manuscripts and brief reports, the Journal of Comparative Psychology publishes state-of-the-art reviews and conceptual essays.
These features provide a means of promoting theoretical and methodological growth in the field, including syntheses and developments at the interface between comparative psychology and other topical areas in psychology and biology.
These changes are intended to broaden the interdisciplinary appeal and value of the journal.
In every issue, the editor will select one manuscript to be the feature article, and write a short essay about that article.
If selected, the author will be notified and a photo of the study solicited. The author will be sent a draft of the feature essay for confirmation of accuracy before publication of the issue.
