Families, Systems, & Health is pleased to announce that we are accepting medical humanities submissions to a modified section of the journal, Sharing Our Stories: Narratives, Poetry, Haiku, and 55-Word Stories.
The journal’s editors are looking for medical humanities pieces that utilize creative writing—narratives, poetry, haiku, or 55—word stories to capture key experiences of wellness, illness, healing the health care system, diversity, social justice and health equity, and/or standout moments in healthcare. Submissions should not exceed 1,000 words and may take the form of a personal narrative, a poem utilizing any format including free verse, or a 55-word story.
All pieces will be peer-reviewed based on fit with the journal mission, use of well-crafted language, and the impact of the narrative.
For more information, please read the “Sharing our stories” section of the submission guidelines on the Families, Systems, & Health webpage.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Victoria Korth or Jennifer Rebekah Hartmark-Hill.
We look forward to receiving your submissions!
