Psychoanalytic Psychology, the official publication of APA Division 39 (Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology), serves as a resource for original contributions that reflect and broaden the interaction between psychoanalysis and psychology.
Manuscripts that involve issues in psychology raised by psychoanalysis and issues in psychoanalysis raised by psychology are welcome.
The journal, a quarterly, publishes clinical papers, research papers, literature reviews, clinical notes, brief reports, commentary, and book reviews.
Particular consideration will be given to empirical articles using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodology. We also invite you to consider the Brief Reports section of Psychoanalytic Psychology as an outlet for your research. This section aims to provide a platform for the rapid dissemination of impactful research and theoretical insights that can be effectively communicated in a concise format.
We welcome submissions including:
- Original theoretical or conceptual pieces presenting novel ideas
- Research papers
- Replication studies (both successful and unsuccessful) of previous research
To increase visibility of their work, published authors now have the opportunity to be featured in a video interview, produced by APA Division 39.
Additional information about the journal, including guidance for authors, is available on the Psychoanalytic Psychology homepage.
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through our submission portal.
We hope you will consider submitting your research to Psychoanalytic Psychology.
