This special issue is the product of the first European Conference on Domestic Violence held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in September 2015. That conference brought together a large number of delegates, including researchers, survivors of domestic violence, policy makers, and service providers, to engage with a diverse and inspiring range of presentations, of which this issue represents a sample.
