Call for reviewers for Translational Issues in Psychological Science ®

If you are a graduate student or an early career investigator interested in gaining more experience as a peer reviewer, or a seasoned scientist interested in peer-review mentoring, we invite you to register to serve as a reviewer for Translational Issues in Psychological Science® (TPS), a peer-reviewed journal co-sponsored by APAGS and the APA journals program.

TPS is a unique mentoring journal that guides psychologists-in-training through the stages of the peer review process. Graduate students and early career psychologists co-author articles, serve as reviewers, and have the opportunity to serve as associate editors. Graduate students who register are provided with in-depth training, templates, and guidance on how to complete an effective and impactful peer review.

Every issue of TPS concentrates on a single important, timely, and/or potentially controversial theme in translational science that is of broad interest to scientists, practitioners, and the general public. Each article covers a body of basic scientific research and concludes with an application section. In addition, TPS also publishes general topics that fall outside of the central theme of each issue.

Each issue is edited by a team consisting of the special issue editor, who is an expert in the topical area, and mentored associate editors, who are psychologists in advanced stages of training (i.e. advanced doctoral students or post-doctoral fellows).

TPS is particularly interested in applicants with the below areas of expertise, but we also welcome reviewers from across all areas of psychology:

  • Advances in parenting interventions: Mechanisms and contexts of care
  • Perinatal mental health
  • Psycholinguistics
  • Psychological impact of lifestyle factors
