Robin McLeod, PhD, Licensed Psychologist
Senior Director of Strategic Relations and Leadership
Robin McLeod joined APA staff in July 2023 following many years building her solo practice in Minnesota into a behavioral health clinic with six locations across the Twin Cities including financially self-sustainable integrated care programs embedded within primary care pediatric clinics, and building a doctoral psychology internship training program that was granted initial accreditation for 10 years just months before McLeod left that practice to join APA staff. McLeod also was on the ground floor of building a management services organization in Minnesota to provide a vehicle for psychologists in independent practice to work in integrated medical settings, maintain viable specialty care practices, negotiate for higher reimbursement rates with payers, and track psychotherapy outcomes to prove the efficacy of their work. McLeod completed her doctoral degree in counseling psychology at the University of Minnesota. In addition to her role on APA staff, McLeod is an item-writer for the EPPP-Part 2, leading the Item Development Committee—Domain 2 (Adult Assessment) and is a member of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards Examination Stakeholder Technical Advisory Group. Her past APA governance roles include chair of the Board of Professional Affairs(2022), president of APA Division 42 (Psychologists in Independent Practice, 2023), Minnesota Representative to the Council of Representatives, secretary of APA Division 31 (State, Provincial, and Territorial Psychological Association Affairs, 2018–20), and chair of the Committee of State Leaders (2020). Past leadership roles in Minnesota include serving on the Minnesota licensure board as member and chair (2017–23) and as president of the Minnesota Psychological Association (2016).
