Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms®
APA's Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms® helps researchers search the APA databases with maximum precision.
What's new in this edition:
- 227 new postable or "preferred" terms
- 173 new non-postable or "used for" cross-referenced terms
- 340 scope note additions
- These changes to the Thesaurus bring the total number of terms to more than 9,000.
- New terms were mapped to all relevant records in APA's databases spanning all years in an effort to provide users greater access to historical content.
This update includes a change in status for several terms, most notably those related to Autism Spectrum Disorders. Three terms — Aspergers Syndrome, Autism, and Pervasive Developmental Disorders — are now non-postable. A single term — Autism Spectrum Disorders — is replacing all three.
