Sherry Kollmann, PhD, has been named president of Vermont State University and vice chancellor of the Vermont State Colleges System. She brings more than 25 years of experience across higher education, business, and public service and currently serves as chancellor of the New Mexico State University Global Campus. Her scholarship focuses on digital learning systems, learning science, faculty motivation, and inclusive, equity-centered education, with particular attention to underserved and rural communities.
The American Educational Research Association honored Vivian Gadsden, PhD, William T. Carter Professor Emerita of Child Development and Education at the University of Pennsylvania, with two distinctions: the Distinguished Contributions to Research in Education Award and the Dr. Felice J. Levine Distinguished Contributions to Mentoring in Research and Leadership Award. She is recognized for her influential research on learning and literacy across the life course, with a focus on advancing equity and opportunity for children and families in historically marginalized communities.
Stephanie Reid-Arndt, PhD, has been appointed dean of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Missouri, where she currently serves as senior associate dean and professor. A clinical psychologist and rehabilitation neuropsychologist, her research focuses on cognitive and executive functioning challenges among cancer survivors and individuals with traumatic brain injury.
Monica L. Baskin, PhD, has been appointed interim director of the Virginia Commonwealth University Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. She currently serves as the center’s deputy director of research and as associate dean for cancer innovation in the VCU School of Medicine. Baskin holds faculty appointments in the divisions of hematology, oncology, and palliative care in the medical school and in social and behavioral sciences in the School of Public Health. Her research emphasizes community-engaged strategies to better understand and address lifestyle-related factors in cancer prevention and control.
Shane R. Jimerson, PhD, of the University of California, Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz Graduate School of Education, has received the 2026 Presidential Award for Distinguished Leadership and Contributions from the National Association of School Psychologists. The honor recognizes his sustained leadership and impact on the field, featuring his influential tenure as editor of the School Psychology Review, where he strengthened the journal’s scholarly impact, advanced research that informs practice and policy, and promoted accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion in school psychology scholarship.
