The Public Interest offices educated practitioners and the public about immigration.

As many as 100 million people in the world today have migrated to other countries as a result of war, poverty or just the dream of a better life. As the number of immigrants has increased, so has controversy about immigration policies. Concerns for immigrants in America and for refugees around the world have increased dramatically over the last several years. The Children, Youth, and Families Office continued to educate the public about psychological issues related to immigration concerns and to provide useful tools to practitioners working with immigrant populations.

  • The June 2016 issue of CYF News focused on Understanding and Addressing the Needs of Unaccompanied Immigrant Minors.
  • The November 2016 issue of CYF News addressed Effects of U.S. Immigration Policies on Children, Youth and Families.
  • In 2016, Public Interest continued to advocate around issues related to immigration.
