Understanding America’s health service psychologist workforce

APA’s Survey of Health Service Psychologists collects key information about the nation’s health service psychologists to better understand the workforce and better prepare the workforce for the future.

About the 2021 survey

APA’s Survey of Health Service Psychologists provides information specific and unique to the health service psychologist workforce, such as work settings and areas of specialty, at a level of detail not available elsewhere. The 2021 Survey of Health Service Psychologists added several new questions about psychologists’ training, Quality Pay Program (QPP) participation, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes usage, as well as response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These additions provided important and timely information on the state of the health service psychologist workforce.
