Non-Dieting, Weight-Acceptance Approaches for Clients With Weight-Associated Diseases
Health Behavior
October 2024
How are non-dieting, self-acceptance-based approaches used when clients have chronic diseases for which weight loss is often recommended? This webinar helps clinicians apply and modify non-weight-loss approaches to target chronic disease, improve client physical health, and advocate for clients who face fat stigma and chronic disease stigma in health care and non-health-care contexts. Attendees will be able to describe the evidence supporting non-dieting, self-acceptance approaches, critique recommendations to lose weight for chronic disease management, and help clients advocate against weight discrimination they may experience in health care.
This program does not offer CE credit.
